Positive Organization Development

Rationale

Using Appreciative Inquiry as platform, the study of Organization Development will lean towards a more positive practice. Not that there is a negative practice but the OD that was borne from the NTL laboratory then was mainly focused on identifying and solving gaps, dysfunctions or problem. This program progress from the personal and moving on to interpersonal and organizational.

Hands-on activities provided AI 'Openings ' in one's personal life, one's exercise of leadership and research initiatives.

 

The Positive OD Curriculum

Module 1

Social Construction and the AI Principles, March 26-27, 2010

Introduces participants to the theory and dynamics of social construction, as well as to the principles of appreciative inquiry. Its objective: to provide an experimental approach to applying the theory and principles in their organizational lives.

 

Module 2

The Diamond Principle of Leadership and its Implications on Appreciative Living, April 23-24, 2010

Encourages participants to see the implications of growing one's greatness from within and to experience this through the flow and excitement of Appreciative Living - hinged on the Diamond Principle of Leadership and the 4-D Cycle of AI.

 

Module 3

The Positive OD Mindset, June 4-5, 2010

Focuses on how OD can have a sharper focus using a Positive mindset -- and its power to influence an appreciative way of interpersonal relations and organizational life. The module views heavily the human side of change management.

 

Module 4

Learnings to do AI Research, July 30-31, 2010

Introduces the AI research framework and will show how such can guide simple investigations at personal or organizational levels. Skills in identifying possibilities of interest for AI research and in pushing the research across its different stages will be the main themes of this module.

 

Module 5

Strategizing and Initiating Positive Community Relations through ABCD towards Building a Shared Vision, August 27-28, 2010

Brings in a new wave for the Imagine Philippine Project. Specifically, the module will work on generating positive reflections and commitments to nation building and engaging in appreciative conversations to build shared vision for one's litlle world.
